Benchmark Exchange Rate Methodology
How Remit.ae uses a benchmark/reference rate as context — and why it is never presented as a provider quote.
Remit.ae uses a benchmark/reference exchange rate as neutral context for each corridor.
What the benchmark is
It is an independent reference value (for example from Fixer) that indicates roughly where a currency pair sits. It is context, not a sendable provider quote.
How it is kept separate
The benchmark is never ranked against providers and never counted as a sendable option. Provider counts exclude it; reference-rate counts include it separately. This keeps comparisons honest.
How to use it
Use the benchmark to judge whether a provider's offer is reasonable, then verify the provider's live quote. More in our methodology.
Rates referenced here are benchmark/reference values from latest-checked sources, not guaranteed quotes — always verify the final rate and fee with the provider before sending. Remit.ae is an independent UAE comparison platform, does not hold funds, and does not provide financial advice. See our methodology and how we make money.
